TriBeCa Care feels honored to have been able to serve the stalwart personality, Mr. Ram Ray, over the years. After serving the advertising industry for a span of 50+ years, Ram Ray left his heavenly abode on 12th November 2019. A Presidency University pass out, he was the first non-American to have headed J. Walter Thompson, US. He had also been a part of many renowned firms.
Even after having a very busy work life, he managed to take out time for things that he loved. He not only was a great foodie but also loved to cook. From street food to a seven-course meal in a five-star restaurant nothing was left unexplored by him. NO was never an option for him when it came to food.
He was the favorite among his colleagues. His age never stopped him from doing anything which his heart wanted. He always kept meeting new people and the radiance of his wide smile and his enthusiasm didn’t weary with age. He greeted everyone with immense love and warmth.
His knowledge in advertising was extremely deep-rooted and it was not chained as he happily embraced technologies. Mr. Ray’s curious mind paired with his eagerness to learn new things took him way ahead of his generation. His humble nature and warm personality made him the favorite of the crowd in no time. He was not only a genius in his field but also loved spreading his knowledge. Eminent personalities like Rituporno Ghose, and Sumanta Chatterjee were some of his masterpieces.
His interests are a testimony to his forever young soul. An ardent fan of photography, typography, and graphics, Ray redefined the phrase, “Young-at-heart.” He was an inspiration to all those seniors who took their age to be a constraint to enjoying their lives.
Ram Ray suffered from major sleeping troubles for which he used a CPAP machine and not only that, he also suggested the same to anyone who was suffering from a similar sleeping disorder. After prolonged suffering, at the age of 77 years, Ray left us forever creating a void in the advertising industry.
